MINIMALISM

plain , modest , clear

The most important features of minimalism is plain and colourless surfaces. However brown and beige or alike soft colours takes place in palette, we generally see mono-chromatic masses especially on basic building elements. Decoration elements must have block-like forms and no details. Minimalist style decoration gives the right and best result when applied on wide spaces as dining rooms, halls, galleries. Using of soft and light tones of brown with rich whites in spaces makes clear and relaxing ambience. This is the most agreed reason of applying minimal-istic decoration style.
Lighting is very important and soft, cool white light is the best. Main separation elements(as walls) must be white and bright (but not shiny). Letting lot of lights sweep over the white walls vertically is a good lighting method.

Large and soft, beige sofas on dark wooden floor makes a good contrast. To keep minimalism, use a few and soft colours, but make contrast between elements and separate furnitures from walls and walls from floors.
Think to avoid your eyes busy with many colours, details, complicated finishings or fabrics. Do not use multi-coloured and textured curtains or carpets. Prefer single coloured jaluzies or stor curtains. Use colourful modern-art pictures on plain walls to gain dinamism and make a lively atmosphere.
